May is Short Story Month: "Recitatif" by Toni Morrison

According to Wikipedia, "Recitatif" is the only short story published by Toni Morrison.  The title word recitatif is defined as the rhythm and tones present in the speaking of language. This story was originally published in the anthology Confirmation: An Anthology of African American Women.
